Core Web Vitals
The passing thresholds, measured for real visitors rather than in the lab: Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint within 200 milliseconds, and Cumulative Layout Shift below 0.1. Field data from actual users, not a one-off lab test on fast office wifi, is what counts, and Indian mobile networks make the field harsher than founders expect.
The honest hierarchy: vitals rarely win rankings on their own, but failing them loses visitors, conversions and crawl efficiency all at once, and slow sites make every other investment work harder. This site is built to pass them with room to spare, deliberately, because a publication about performance should be its own evidence. Run it through any testing tool you like.
